However, there are certain healthier options that do a better job at boosting your immune system with its antibiotic properties. They include garlic spinach soup, miso soup, chicken noodle soup, and others. Whether it’s sweet or savory, there’s a soothing soup for you to enjoy.
Get Some Extra Sleep
You also need to make sure you get plenty of rest. Get an extra hour of sleep or two by getting to bed earlier than usual. Sleep deprivation is linked to a variety of health issues including mental health, heart disease, and even weight issues.
In relation to a cold, lack of sleep can prevent your immune system from operating at its optimal level. As a result, you’re more susceptible to different cold symptoms including stuffy nose, coughing, and sore throat. But, by getting a full night of quality sleep, you can start off the new day as healthy as possible.
Take a Steamy Shower
A steam shower can also alleviate any respiratory problems. If you’re feeling dizzy from your illness, sit on a chair nearby with the steam going and take a sponge bath instead for the same effect. The steam will help open up your sinus passages and encourage drainage.
